Nick founded Boberg Advisory in early 2023 as a means of using his skills and experience to help businesses, while affording him greater working flexibility for his young family. In late 2023, Ella joined the business and together they offer a powerful and complementary set of skills.
Nick and Ella live in the Waikato with their two young boys, Nathan and Jackson.

We are honest and transparent: We want what is best for our clients and we conduct ourselves accordingly. If we aren't the right people for the job or if there is a smarter or cheaper way of achieving the same results, we'll be the first to let you know.
We are constantly evolving: Technology is constantly evolving and therefore so must we. We are continually investing in our own training and education so that we can continue to provide the best service and value to our clients.
Nick Boberg
Chartered Financial Analyst, BCom, BSc
Nick has advised hundreds of businesses over the course of his career and has developed a strong understanding of what drives value. He has a passion for people, a passion for business, and a commitment to success.
Nick started his career as an analyst in the PwC Waikato Deals team, developing a broad skillset across business valuation, M&A, transaction support and data analysis. Over eight years he progressed to Associate Director and was leader of the financial modelling service. He then went on to lead the financial and commercial operations of Anglesea Hospital for two years, helping the business to achieve record growth outcomes for Waikato’s highest performing private hospital. He was an integral part of Anglesea’s sale to Evolution Healthcare in May 2022.
Nick is internationally recognised for his Excel and financial modelling abilities. He competes against the world’s best financial modellers in the Financial Modelling World Cup, ranking 15th in the 2023 competition. In his spare time he can be found on the golf course or enthusiastically applying his limited handyman skills.

Ella Boberg
Chartered Accountant, BMS(Hons)
Ella first decided to pursue a career in business when, at the tender age of ten, she declared that she would become an accountant just like her beloved grandfather. Fast forward a couple of decades and her passion is as keen as ever.
After graduating from the University of Waikato (as Top Accounting Graduate), she began her working career in audit teams across two of the Big4 (PwC and KPMG) before moving to Baker Tilly Staples Rodway where she worked across audit, business advisory and tax. This public practice experience gave her an excellent technical foundation across all key areas of finance and gave her a wonderful understanding of how successful businesses operate. She then had several industry roles (Management Accountant at Virbac, Chief Financial Officer at Radix and Finance Manager at Global Velocity Group), which is where her passion for data and automation was really ignited. The decision to commit to Boberg Advisory came from this passion - for Ella, it was the opportunity to pursue a career built around what she loved doing most and the ability to become a recognised expert in her chosen fields.
Ella currently uses her spare time being indecisive about landscaping choices, baking, gyming and trying to compete for top Excel expert in the family (spoiler alert: she's got a ways to go).
